The Story Behind the Decks
Born in Haiti and raised on the pulse of the Caribbean, DJ Wood fell deep in love with soca music — the energy, the culture, the way it moves a crowd without question.
In April 2023, Wood dropped his very first mix: the Bouyon & Dennery Wine & Sweat Mix V1 on SoundCloud. The response was immediate. Over 30,000 plays later across all releases, he has built one of the most authentic Caribbean DJ brands around.
Also known as Gootay Wood, he produces original riddims and brings everything from Bouyon and Dennery to Power Soca, Groovy, and Bashment. Every mix, every beat, every set is rooted in a deep love for the music.
